The danger of malign actors (individuals or state) trying to damage company reputations is not new but the avenues for achieving this today have significantly increased, particularly on-line. In an instant, an anonymous message or video or a cyber breach can undermine brand reputation with the consequential loss of share value and market standing. Reputation is easily lost and yet very hard to regain. What steps can be taken in advance to protect brands and how can business be more resilient in the face of the growing dangers?
This will be the theme of a Resilience First briefing in partnership with CBRE. It will explore the dangers presented by, such as, malicious rumours spread on social media, publicised ransomware, other cyber-attacks (successful or not), and insider duplicity on company reputations. The session will consider the effect of disinformation campaigns and hybrid threats (the so called ‘grey zone’) launched from inside or outside the UK. Find out what your business needs to do to ensure its reputation is secure.
