Resilience Rising has become a standalone non-profit organisation, leading a global consortium of organisations with the common goal to shape a more resilient world. Our vision is to become a global platform that inspires, motivates, and empowers a long-term transformation in how leaders and decision makers collectively address resilience and, subsequently, create a safe, resilient, and sustainable future for all.

About Resilience First

Resilience First, a core member of the consortium, uses its convening power to advance resilience best practice by actively bringing together businesses to solve some of the most urgent and challenging issues, allowing them to learn from each other and building the consensus to pursue the transformation the world needs. Resilience First will identify important issues and activate cohorts of businesses to address them in topical networks. These networks will be tasked with ideating solutions, testing promising opportunities, and scaling their recommendations to the broader private sector through Resilience Rising’s broad communications apparatus. Most importantly, Resilience First’s networks will constantly evolve to address new issues and use its platform to champion the leadership of the business community as they implement recommendations.

Role

Reporting to the Director of Business Engagement and working alongside the Resilience Rising strategic communications team, the Marketing Manager will be required to carry out the following as part of the full suite of activities expected within the role:

  • Develop and maintain the communications strategy and plan to deliver Resilience First’s strategic and operational objectives, this will include promotion of the Resilience First brand, member engagement and specific business development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Resilience Rising strategic communications team to execute the communications and influence strategy and tactical activities for Resilience First our portfolio of brands and initiatives.
  • Work with the senior executives at Resilience First, to develop and deliver a full and compelling programme of events and webinars (c 2 per month) to engage our members and stakeholders and recruit new members, including:
    1. Managing and expanding the events programme on a 3 monthly basis and promotion
    2. Speaker management
    3. Delegate management
    4. Full logistics management (webinars and on-site)
    5. Design and implement promotional marketing plan for the events across our various channels (social media, website and e-comms)
    6. Deliver the events and webinars
    7. Post-event comms management (write-up and dissemination)
  • Develop targeted communication strategies and messaging in collaboration with the Director of Business Engagement to engage our members and stakeholders, drive our campaigns as well as for business development purposes.
  • Write, edit and publish content of different types and for different purposes including newsletters, news update, blogs, event materials, video scripts, and social media posts.
  • Maintain Resilience First’s website and communications materials, including reviewing channel content for consistency, functionality, broken links etc.
  • Maintain a social media presence and posting materials as appropriate to our channels.
  • Ensure that the organisational narrative and brand identity (visual and vocal) is consistently applied across all products
  • Work with commissioned resources to manage design, editorial and production projects to completion, supporting with picture and stock footage research and clearance as needed.
  • On a monthly basis collate, analyse, and present stats and analytics from all channels and activities to report on or input to decision-making.
  • Work with partner organisations effectively to share our content and co-create editorial opportunities.
  • Manage the Special Projects Manager who will provide events and marketing administrative support, including delegate registration and newsletter production and dissemination.

Requirements and skills

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong marketing, communications and events background and/or education
  • Demonstrable evidence of typically over 3 years’ experience of working in a corporate communication or relevant events marcoms role.
  • Experience of customer relationship management, probably gained through working in a business that has a membership or subscription or contract business model.
  • Strong writing abilities and can demonstrate excellent editorial instincts – able to spot a story and craft it according to need
  • Experience of digital marketing including website content, social media platforms and blogs.
  • Excellent level of written and spoken English, with strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent grasp of Office 365, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and collaborative working through Slack and Dropbox.
  • Experience of CRM and events management platforms.
  • Strong organisational skills able to demonstrate experience of successful project and event delivery.
  • Ability to work in an agile and fast-paced environment, to work independently and proactively.
  • At ease communicating with senior executives.

Desirable Skills and Knowledge:

  • Experience of working in a non-profit organization is useful
  • Graphic design and website development skills, and evidence of creative flair
  • PR and media relations experience desirable, whether agency or in-house
  • An interest in sustainable development, infrastructure resilience, or climate change is useful

 

This is a full-time role, based in London with a hybrid working arrangement.
